Breaking news out of NOAH today: The GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship is now VACANT. Bison Smith & Keith Walker have returned the titles. The reason is that Walker is unable to participate in the September tour due to the death of his father on August 31. Walker decided not to return to Japan at this time and to instead return the titles. The GHC Title Committee (Chairman Joe Higuchi & NOAH President Akira Taue) accepted this decision and announcements regarding the title's status are forthcoming. NOAH's official statement (translated):
There was request that in September tour 'Shiny Navig.2010' from the Kith Walker player of visiting Japan schedule the father dies on August 31st, would like to discontinue visiting Japan. At GHC title control board we announced the GHC tag championship opening already in the September 18th (Saturday) Osaka conference, requested visiting Japan, but “the family of this person we would like to prefer the time when it is. There was the strong desire where America is said, it is not possible the thing which leaves” that at [puroresuringu] Noah and GHC title control board the result of conference, respected the intention of this person, decided the discontinuance of visiting Japan and the return of the GHC tag throne.
We apologize the fact that the annoyance which becomes great is applied to everyone who has been enjoyed the GHC tag championship tournament deeply. In addition also the announcement being completed opposition card becomes modification.
Piling up, understanding we would like to grant, pile up ask.
We pray the happiness in the other world of the deceased.
